Beet-Tahini Cardamom Smoothie
It was the first week of April 2021 and “Kiss Me More” by Doja Cat featuring SZA was released. My partner, Steven, was absolutely OBSESSED with the tune- so it was no surprise that I, too, would be singing this song during my every waking moment.
If you aren’t familiar with the song of the summer, or at least it should be, one is transported to Planet “HER”. An effervescent, pink-hued planet for the girls, gays, and theys. This smoothie was inspired by this sensational planet. Like the inhabitants of Planet HER, this smoothie is rich, healthy, extra as hell, and represents the life of any party (or breakfast routine).
Whip out your blender, listed to Kiss Me More, and enjoy!
Beet-Tahini Cardamom Smoothie
Yield: 1 (12oz) smoothie
Time: 5 minutes
DIRECTIONS
In a blender, add the beets, blueberries, frozen cauliflower (optional), banana, cinnamon, cardamom, sea salt, vanilla extract, tahini, maple syrup, and milk of choice, and protein (if using).
Note: If you prefer to consume this smoothie as a smoothie bowl, which is top tier in my humble opinion, add 1/4 cup of liquid at a time. Blend after each additional 1/4 cup of liquid until the desired thick smoothie consistency is achieved.
Blend until smooth
Serve in a glass and garnish with granola of choice, a drizzle of tahini, and a dash of sea salt.
