Chocolate-Hazelnut Miso Smoothie
Miso truly doesn’t get the love it deserves, but let’s set something straight… she is as versatile as I wish I could be!
This sweet and salty chocolatey smoothie is perfect for any breakfast and any person with a major sweet tooth. The miso provides a beautiful balance to the usually sweet flavor that any spoonful of nutella has.
Not only will this drink keep you full and satiated, but I’m pretty sure it’ll take your tastebuds on a ride between the sweet and salty lands that Shark Boy & Lava Girl traversed through.
Now go roast some hazelnuts (or buy Nutella, you LAZY) and enjoy!

INGREDIENTS
1 cup milk of choice
1 banana, frozen
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons white miso paste
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1/4 cup roasted hazelnuts (see note for substitute)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup frozen cauliflower (optional)
1 scoop of chocolate protein powder (optional)
Toppings
Chopped Hazelnuts, for garnish
Chocolate Curls, for garnish
Notes
Hazelnuts
If you have raw hazelnuts, you can slightly chop your hazelnuts and then toast in a pan for 3-5 minutes until fragrant. This will help release their oils and the signature “hazelnut” flavor
If you DO NOT have hazelnuts, use 1/4 cup of Nutella!
If you use Nutella, omit the maple syrup or reduce it by half since Nutella is usually sweetened already.
